Artist Bio

The artist, Jorge Garza was born in Mexico City where he attained a degree in Architecture at the “Universidad Iberoamericana”.  He lived in Montreal, Canada, and now in San Diego, California.  After traveling through the USA, Canada, Europe, and Asia, he captured the feeling of the old and new world.  Blending these notions in the bold depictions of his art and enhanced by the free use of pallet knife gives his paintings a unique blend of textures and colors.

His award-winning art encompasses a wide variety of media: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Yupo (a new media that utilizes synthetic paper and alcohol-based inks), and Encaustic, (an ancient technique that utilizes colored WAX), Pastel, and also explores Digital art.

He paints Landscapes, Seascapes, Portraits, Abstracts, and a series of Eclectic Art utilizing all the different media.  His art creates a striking visual and emotional experience of his true impressionist style.

Some recent accomplishments include four times: “Best of Show”, two “First Place”, two “Second Place” and three “Third Place” awards at the SD Art Guild shows.  Jorge’s work can be found in private collections in the US, Canada, and Mexico and in several galleries in the US.  To see more of his work go to his website: theartfussion.com.
