“When I start a painting, I will often have a vision in mind of what I am hoping to produce yet, more often than not, the end product will look vastly different from my original vision.”
A painter since 1950, inspired by Monet’s Girl With a Watering Can, National Gallery of art, I paint what I feel, with A flair.
Being born in Germany I was surrounded by the Woodcut Prints of Albrecht Durer, Kathie Kollwitz, Ernst Barlach, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, and Franz Marc, just to name a few. As they did, I use special woodcut tools and shun electrical tools to stay true to the tradition.
An environmental research project administrator by training and an artist by choice, I believe that identical skills apply to both art and research. Research requires a creative mind and art requires technology
Vivi Anderson enjoys studying the ocean waves and has been traveling to northern California to capture the wild waves in the Big Sur area and Carmel’s famous coast in Asilomar Beach.
