I am an outdoor painting capturing the environment in my surroundings. I teach watercolor and acrylic. I have been painting most of my life. I specialize in teaching seniors. I have won many awards at different galleries in North County. I love impressionist, splashy, fun painting. Charcee.com is my website.
I love to find and photograph that elusive image that is gone in an instant. The kind of thing that makes most people say, “If I only had a camera with me.” Well, I do have mine with me, and more often than not, I get the shot.
Being born in Germany I was surrounded by the Woodcut Prints of Albrecht Durer, Kathie Kollwitz, Ernst Barlach, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, and Franz Marc, just to name a few. As they did, I use special woodcut tools and shun electrical tools to stay true to the tradition.

My subject matter has always been eclectic, from the Classics and the Renaissance period to science fiction, fantasy, nature, and sports. If there is one common thread in my work, it is humanity and the spiritual essence of all life.
Artist Statement I create paintings using silk as my canvas. The brilliance of the color using silk dyes on luxurious silk is amazing.
