“Since I was very young, making paintings has always had a calming effect on my psyche, as well as improved my general outlook on life. The sense of creating a work that is conceptually and visually pleasing is a wonderful thing.” – Debbie Forbes
When I paint, I am completely absorbed in my work. I can travel to exotic places, sit in a beautiful garden, or maybe sunbath on a deserted beach.
A painter since 1950, inspired by Monet’s Girl With a Watering Can, National Gallery of art, I paint what I feel, with A flair.

Charlene enjoys a variety of mediums: acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and two favorites: colored pencil and pen ‘n ink. Living in Sacramento for years, she developed a passion for Victorian homes which she renders in pen ‘n ink detail, sometimes combining with watercolor.
