Carrie has been strongly influenced by a number of great Southwest, New England, and California artists, giving her a unique viewpoint of the natural world. Defined by her trademark umbrellas in multi-colored designs, her gentle and sunny style reflects the beauty, optimism, and dreamlike qualities of the Southern California coastal area.
Patty is a prolific artist having multiple projects under way at all times with an extensive diversity of subject matter focusing first on Watercolors, Drawing, Mixed Media, Alcohol Inks, Acrylics and Collage. Patty is a member of SDAG (San Dieguito Art Guild) Off Track Gallery, COAL (Carlsbad Oceanside Art League) and The Oceanside Museum of Art.
Always striving to learn and improve, Lorraine is dedicated to ongoing sessions with artists who can challenge her in positive ways. She has been privately trained in the impressionistic plein air style by other successful artists through workshops and individual lessons. Lorraine offers private lessons for artists wishing to learn to paint or Improve their skills. Lorraine currently splits her time between creating beautiful paintings and raising three beautiful children with her loving and supportive husband. Both bring true joy and happiness to her everyday life.
Being born in Germany I was surrounded by the Woodcut Prints of Albrecht Durer, Kathie Kollwitz, Ernst Barlach, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, and Franz Marc, just to name a few. As they did, I use special woodcut tools and shun electrical tools to stay true to the tradition.
I am an outdoor painting capturing the environment in my surroundings. I teach watercolor and acrylic. I have been painting most of my life. I specialize in teaching seniors.
