Gloria Rocha

Artist’s Statement
Gloria Favela Rocha is a San Diego native and proud first-generation Mexican American whose work reflects her deep roots, creativity, and commitment to community. With over 30 years as a professional muralist and 20 years as a paint contractor with Rocha Murals & Paint Inc., she has created more than 75 murals and completed projects ranging from residential and commercial painting to faux finishes, Venetian plaster, microcement, and automotive coatings for vans, trucks, and RVs.
Artist’s Bio
Her body of work extends beyond the United States, with projects completed overseas as part of her expanding artistic journey. Gloria’s murals have appeared on a monumental scale, including major projects at the former Palomar Medical Center and a seven-story mural at Chicano Park in San Diego. She has also been featured in TV interviews with KPBS and Palomar Live, as well as in magazines and newspaper articles highlighting her art, her cultural heritage, and her community impact. She is especially proud of her Arts for Healing work, including projects supporting children affected by human trafficking through SART and installations at hospitals across San Diego County. She also enjoys teaching elementary and high school students the mural-making process, sharing her passion with the next generation.
Guided by her meditation practice, Gloria draws inspiration from inner visions that she brings to life through her art, creating works that reflect both cultural heritage and personal transformation.
