Fee Based Art Opportunities:

COAL Village Art Fair (sponsored by SIMA). Open to the public and members but limited to 14 artists that will exhibit on the green in the village square. Sales go directly to the artist. To apply, click here. Date: July 12, 2026.

NOV Holiday Bazaar held at the Gallery and Plaza. Only for members in good standing and limited to 20 artist. For more details, click here. Date: November 28, 2026.

The COAL/NCAG’s policies, instructions, and forms governing the Gallery management operations are listed below.
- Gallery and Monthly Show Art Guidelines Learn your correct medium for shows.
- Hosting Calendar (Viewable only). Every Member is required to host the gallery during each month in which they display artworks. View the availability on the calendar, then email your selected date to Ellen Cramer, Calendar Chair at coalcalendar@gmail.com and obtain a confirmation. Do not depend on the Gallery Calendar at the desk.
- Gallery Hosts Substitutes (Fee-Based). If you cannot host the month you display artwork, you are required to find a substitute and contact the calendar chair to schedule.

Baffle display walls are available for Members in good standing. Availability varies with 2-month and some 1-month openings. Review the calendar link for upcoming schedules.

- All art must conform to Art Show Rules, Guidelines, Categories to display in the Monthly Shows and Baffle Walls.
- Artwork must be a variety of works, over 50% originals versus giclees or prints. The giclees or prints must not dominate the baffle space.
- Space Assignment Schedules are designated on a first-come, first-served application basis. An email will be sent to all artists with their assigned space.
- You must Calendar all of your Hosting dates immediately with the COALCALENDAR@gmail.com. Hosting Calendar link here.

Fees : $90 for 2-months. $45 for 1-month. Shows will close automatically when filled. Fees are not refundable or transferable.

After you apply: You must sign your Artist Waiver/Agreement, sent via email after approval, to the Baffle Coordinator at charlotte.charcee@gmail.com. You are not qualified to hang your art until you have done so.

Display towers and pedestals are available for members in good standing to display their art or jewelry for sale.
To apply: Review the Jewelers/3D/Pedestal Specifications. Then email 2 images of your work to Gertrude Lewis at gertlewis55@gmail.com. If accepted, you will be directed to pay and enter your application to secure your placement.

We are an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. When members volunteer it keeps the gallery strong and viable for everyone. Volunteering is also open to nonartists and the general public, as we are happy to share the beauty of art.

As a current member of the Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (COAL), you can register to have your artist page displayed on the COAL/NCAG website. You must include the following:
- A high-resolution photo of yourself not over 2 mg.
- An Artist Statement and/or Bio.
- Upload 6 high-resolution photos of your artwork, not over 2 mg each.
- Acknowledge the Waiver to Hold Harmless the COAL/NCAG for any works that are copied from the website without your permission.
- A registration fee of $45.00 is payable on this application.
- Updates to your artist page are $5.00 each to help defray our website’s monthly hosting costs.
Please allow 7 days to complete the process and get your page up and running.

Members can submit cards and shrink wrapped art prints for sale in the gallery. During holiday time, ornaments and a special holiday card rack is avalable as well. Members must apply first before placing any items in the gallery.
