Being born in Germany I was surrounded by the Woodcut Prints of Albrecht Durer, Kathie Kollwitz, Ernst Barlach, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, and Franz Marc, just to name a few. As they did, I use special woodcut tools and shun electrical tools to stay true to the tradition.Â
Raised in Europe, and moving frequently, my art was the only thing that always went with me, as much never fit into a suitcase. Therefore, I learned to pull from memories. My fundamental interest is to create works that call for the participation of the audience, extend one’s natural curiosities, share in the joy of the process of development, and evoke basic human emotion.
I am an outdoor painting capturing the environment in my surroundings. I teach watercolor and acrylic. I have been painting most of my life. I specialize in teaching seniors.
